FALCONETS TARGET TROPHY
NFF's Assistant General Secretary (Competitions), Mr. James Peters says it is going to be a fierce battle for the leadership of group C when Nigeria andMexico file out for their last group stage match on Wednesday in Bochum, Germany at the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women World Cup.

'We are not daunted by their performances so far' James Peters said, after watching video clips of the Mexican girls. 'Team spirit and determination is the key to the success of our players and we are now fully focused on claiming the coveted trophy, he added.

Since their arrival in Bochum on Sunday, the Falconets have been training behind closed doors at the outskirt of the town. The team also devoted time to study video clip of their opponents and today (Tuesday) they had a feel of the turf at the main Stadium in Bochum which has a capacity for 20,000 spectators.

Chief Coach Adat Egan say there is no cause for alarm as the girls were in high spirit to crush the Mexicans. Dashing winger, Amarachi Okoronkwo says she is desperate to tear the mexican net with more goals, while Ebere Orji who assisted in all the goals Nigeria scored so far said she wont allow the South Americans to pocket her.

A draw will secure a passage for both teams to the quarter finals, but the Falconets who are regulars at this tournament are keen on taking the leadership of the group. The Mexicans on the other hand, have featured in three editions (2002, 2006, 2008) but never went beyond the group stage.

Meanwhile, the arrival of Princess Bola Jegede, Chairperson of NFF's Women Football Development Committee has boosted the morale of the players. The match against Mexico will kick off at 2.00pm Nigerian time.
