Maigari: Now, We Target The Final
President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Aminu Maigari on Sunday expressed delight over theFalconets’ triumph against the United States of America in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup quarter finals, saying the girls will now target the Final match as a first step.

While presenting his congratulation to the history-making Falconets, Maigari said: “Our girls did a great job overcoming the defending champions and we must praise them. It is not easy. Determination and confidence played a key role in their game and these must still guide them as they go up against Colombia in the semi final. We cannot afford to under-rate any team.

“For the Colombians to have beaten the impressive Swedes meant they are indeed a good team. We must surely be at our best for the Colombians as we cannot afford to get this far and then bungle it.

“We will go for the Cup, but it is important that we take this one match at a time”, said the NFF boss.

Nigeria take on Colombia, surprise winners over Sweden, in the tournament’s second semi final in Bielefeld on Thursday evening, starting from 5.30pm Nigeria time.
