GUIDELINES FOR THE NIGERIA FOOTBALL FEDERATION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ELECTIONS 2010

PREAMBLE
In line with the new FIFA Electoral Code which seeks to ensure that elections of its member Federations are transparently organized, the General Assembly of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday, 29th December 2009 established a nine-man committee to, organize and supervise the election process and take decisions relating to the election of members of the next Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) which has been scheduled to hold on Saturday, 21st August 2010.
In the discharge of this mandate, the NFF Electoral Committee hereby outlines the general principles and guidelines that will apply to the process and all candidates interested in participating in the 2010 NFF Executive Committee Elections.

ARTICLE 1
COMPLIANCE WITH NFF ELECTORAL CODE:

The process of organizing and supervising the election process and all decisions relating to this election shall be in conformity with the NFF Electoral Code as approved by NFF General Assembly at Abuja on 29th December, 2009.

ARTICLE 2
ELECTION DATE/VENUE:

  1. Date:    Saturday, 21st  August, 2010.
  2. Venue:    Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
  3. Time:    12 noon


ARTICLE 3
DELEGATES AND VOTING:

3.1    In consonance with Article 22 of NFF Statutes 2010, each member shall be represented by 2 delegates (i.e. its Chairman and Secretary). In the event of any recognized delegate being absent, his representative must produce a written advice duly signed by the Chairman and Secretary on an acceptable letter-head. Such written advice is to reach the NFF and Electoral Committee Secretariat at least 24 hours prior to the election.

3.2    In accordance with Article 22 of the NFF Statutes 2010, the following members are eligible delegates of the General Assembly:

  1. The Thirty-seven (37) state football associations, including the Federal Capital Territory, subordinate to NFF, each shall have two delegates.
  2. The Nigerian Referees Association, subordinate to NFF shall have two delegates.
  3. The Nigerian Premier League, subordinate to NFF shall have two delegates.
  4. The Players Association, subordinate to NFF shall have two delegates.
  5. The Nigerian Football Coaches Association, subordinate to NFF shall have two delegates.
  6. The Nigeria National League, subordinate to NFF shall have two delegates.
  7. The Nigeria Amateur League, subordinate to NFF, shall have two delegates.
  8. The Nigeria Women League, subordinate to NFF shall have two delegates.

3.3    In accordance with Article 22(2) of the NFF Statutes, all delegates must belong to the member that they represent and be appointed or elected by the appropriate body of that member. They must also be able to produce evidence of this upon request.
